How many miles do you cover in a day?
We’ll ride between 35 and 50km and 5/7 hours per day. It doesn’t sound a lot on the paper if you're used to more but in and around Morzine and Les Gets, this is a good distance.
Average riding is 30/40 mn between the different trails and the same for the return to the chalet.
We don’t ride full on for eight hours a day, as this would do a real injustice to the landscapes and mountain vistas that we'll travel through. You ‘ll want to stop to admire the view or take a picture, so don’t expect to do the same distances that you would usually do on training rides.
Alpine riding has nothing to compare to while riding in the UK. A lot of the trails are very old (several centuries) and were used for travel ling between the altitude chalets in the mountains. This means that they weren't made for biking but for carrying food by foot or with mules and can therefore be very technical and challenging.
